Green eyes Benji

With his white paws and belly, he really looks like he is wearing a tuxedo. Reminds me of Obama’s Portuguese water dog.

Anyway, here is Benji again, from having blue eyes to yellow and now green? He is looking so healthy and smart, potential show cat? Let’s see, only time will tell.

Trip to the vet… again

When we first got Bella, we realised that Bella’s fur was not as thick and soft as Benji’s. Few baths and shampoo later, fur’s gotten softer. Then we realised that there’s some kind of fungus growing on her body.

Brought her to the vet and confirmed that she has fungal infection. How she got it? Where? Why? Only god knows.

Got some anti-biotics and medicine and using Nova Pearls Medicated shampoo now.

Hope things will improve.

Flat face Bella

Very distinct difference between Benji and Bella. Bella has a flat face and ears pointing outwards, whereas Benji’s ears are pointing forward and slightly potruding face.

The challenge with flat face is the tears stain – needs more regular cleaning.

Bella has no fur around her eyes. Don’t know if this is normal or not, but will be taking her to the vet soon.

And Benji, looking more and more healthy as the days go by. His fur is softer than Bella’s.

Sound asleep…

Both sound asleep after their bath.

Bath in warm water
Shampoo & conditioner
Towel dry, hair dryer to accelerate the drying
Brush their fur to get it soft, fluffy and untangled
Clean their ears and eyes

By the time they are done, they will go to their favourite corner and sleep for couple of hours

Nayli took some tshirts off her toys and put it on Benji & Bella. Surprisingly, it fits nicely.

Bella has curly furs, especially on her belly and neck. Looks like she has the Selkirk Rex genes in her. With time, it will get curlier. She has flatter face compared to Benji.

On a sidenote, Benji getting better today. Livelier. Yeah!

Benji is not feeling too good

Poor Benji. The vaccination has caused Benji to feel unwell and weak. He is resting most of the time.

Cant wait for Benji to be back to his normal self again.

And, Benji’s eyes are changing shade as he grows older – from blue to yellow perhaps?

Vaccination & Deworm

Brought Benji to the vet today, AMK at Sembawang, for second vaccination and deworming. Injection was administered between the shoulder blades and deworming tablets broken into smaller pieces and “forced” into Benji’s mouth.

Benji tried to spit out the tablet though.

Vaccinations are vital for both kittens and adult cats. Vaccination involves an initial course and then boosters every year. It is the best way to protect your cat against a whole range of distressing and possibly fatal diseases.

and why deworm?

Roundworms, often called ‘ascarids,’ are the most common parasite of the digestive tract in dogs and cats. Many young animals are infested with roundworms. Because they can cause disease in humans, they are also very important to our health as well.

So for the next 1 week or so, we will be monitoring Benji more closely for signs of stress and fever. Hopefully, all will be good. Oh yes, had the chance weigh Benji again just now – 1.1 Kg. Just 8 days ago he was only 1 Kg.

Time to clean up Bella – every 3 days without fail.

Picture above was taken just after bathing her, still wet. Towel dry followed by hair dryer treatment.

And here is Bella looking fluffy and beautiful again. Bella giving final clean up on herself.
